Tips on Painting Paper Mache Skulls
- 1). Place the paper mache skull on a flat working surface, over a sheet of newspaper.
- 2). Paint the entire skull in a thin but even coat of gray acrylic paint using a paintbrush.
- 3). Pour some white acrylic paint on to a paper plate. Gently dip a craft sponge in the white paint and rub any excess off on a clean area on the plate.
- 4). Dab the sponge over the still-damp gray paint of the skull in a stamping motion, adding more paint as necessary to apply a thin layer over the entire skull.
- 5). Allow the skull to dry completely.
- 6). Paint the eye sockets of the skull using a solid layer of black acrylic paint.
