How to Freshen the Interior of a Microwave Oven
- 1). Fill a microwave-safe bowl with 1 cup of water. Slice one lemon and add the slices to the water.
- 2). Pour 1/4 cup of white vinegar into the lemon and water mixture. Drop in six whole cloves.
- 3). Place the bowl in the microwave and close the door. Heat the solution for two to 2½ minutes on "High" to bring the solution to a boil. Add more time, if needed.

Leave the bowl of lemon mixture inside the microwave oven after it turns off. Allow the steam to soften stains and deodorize the inside of the microwave while the door is shut. - 5). Remove the bowl with the lemon mixture. Wipe the inside of the microwave off with a damp sponge to remove stain material.
- 6). Dry the interior of the microwave with another cloth. Prop the door open and allow air to circulate for 15 minutes before closing it.
