How to Make Morning Routine Charts for Kids
- 1). Open a blank page in your word processor.
- 2). Create a box for each day of the week along the top horizontal row leaving the first box blank. Make enough boxes down the side for each activity you want to include on the chart. Leave an extra box or two blank in case you have to add something later.
- 3). Add words, pictures or graphics naming the activities the child is supposed to do every morning. Use different colors for each activity or type of activity if you want a color-coded chart. List the tasks in the order you want the child to follow, such as make the bed, pack your lunch, eat breakfast, brush your teeth, feed the dog or take the trash out.
- 4). Save and print the routine chart. Explain it to the child so he knows how to follow it.
- 1). Draw straight lines on a piece of construction paper with a ruler, creating a grid.
- 2). List the morning activities in the left column of the chart. Add pictures or allow the child to glue or draw pictures in the proper spaces on the chart.
- 3). Write the days of the week on the top of the chart.
