How to Paint Accoustical Ceiling Tiles

    • 1). Study the accoustical ceiling tiles for water stains. Ensure that the source of the stains has been rectified before you paint.

    • 2). Remove all items from the room. Cover the floor beneath the accoustical ceiling tiles with plastic drop cloths. Cover the plastic drop cloths with fabric ones.

    • 3). Access the accoustical ceiling tiles using a step ladder. Apply a tacky painter's tape to areas you would like to keep free of paint. Cover the tops of baseboards with tape.

    • 4). Coat all water stains with Kilz stain-blocking primer. Wait 1 hour for the stain-blocking primer to dry.

    • 5). Roll flat latex paint onto the accoustical ceiling tiles using a roller attached to an extension pole. Apply paint to areas of the accoustical ceiling tiles inaccessible to the roller using a paintbrush.
