How to Make Non-Messy Paint

    Washable Window Paint

    • 1). Make washable window paint for students to decorate room or car windows. Measure 1/3 cup of liquid dish soap, three tablespoons of powdered tempera paint and two tablespoons of liquid starch.

    • 2). Mix the ingredients together in a small bowl. Stir with a wooden spoon until the mixture becomes thick, like house paint.

    • 3). Use the paint on glass or plastic surfaces. Wash with a sponge and warm water.

    Washable Finger Paint

    • 1). Make washable finger paint for students to use on poster or paper. Measure two tablespoons of sugar, 1/3 cup of cornstarch, two cups of cold water and ¼ cup of liquid dish soap.

    • 2). Combine the sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan. Whisk the ingredients until fully mixed. Turn heat to medium. Gradually add water, and whisk the mixture.

    • 3). Turn heat to the low setting when the mixture begins to bubble. Continue to whisk until the mixture thickens into a gel-like substance. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool.

    • 4). Stir in dish soap once cooled. Divide the mixture into different containers, such as jars, which can be sealed with an air-tight lid.

    • 5). Add 10 drops of food coloring to each mixture, unless you are mixing colors. For instance, if you are making purple, use five drops of red and five drops of blue. Stir the mixture until the food coloring is fully blended. Store in sealed containers.
