Something I SaidBeing Single Doesn't Have To Mean Being LonelyDwight HobbesInsight News archives There's worser things in the world than being single. And it sure don't mean you has to be lonely. It's a sad person can't stand their own company, can't stand it so bad they have to have somebody else around them in order to feel good. Not that there's something wrong with havin' a special somebody in your life. Everybody wants that. We all need it. Just don't let desperation do your deciding for you. If you think on it, how many headaches have you had from rushing into something with someone you had no business getting around in the first place? And why? You wasn't lettin' your own company be good enough for you. Just had to invest your self-esteem in someone else. Then, find yourself wondering why you wind up with headaches. So, okay. You aren't in a relationship this very minute. Ever been in one before? Do you really think you will die without being in one again? Relax. When it's the right time, it will happen. What you do now, though, can help the next time work, instead of being another burn. Push past being embarrassed at being alone. Learn to live with the fact that there are going to be days and nights when things get downright lonely. So? A lot of lonely hours have been with someone right there, next to you in bed. Get on with life. Never let loneliness be an excuse to get in a relationship. In fact, the happier to become with your own company, the better off you are. Take it easy. Have a coke and a smile. And make sure not to sell short that person in the mirror.
