How to Remove Asphalt Tile Adhesive From a Concrete Floor

    • 1). Attach the scraper blade to the electric hammer chisel.

    • 2). Place the scraper blade at the edge of the asphalt tile adhesive on the concrete.

    • 3). Turn the electric hammer chisel to the ON position. The scraper blade will move back and forth and loosen the asphalt tile adhesive off the concrete.

    • 4). Remove the loosened adhesive with a broom and dustpan.

    • 5). Remove the adhesive with a methylene chloride paint remover, if desired. Saturate a paintbrush in the paint remover and apply it to the asphalt tile adhesive. Allow the paint remover to sit on the adhesive until it begins to soften. Remove the softened adhesive with a paint scraper and wash the concrete floor thoroughly with hot, soapy water.
