16 Measures Dads Can Take to Prevent Sexual Molestation of Their Children

With the alarming statistics of one out of four girls and one out of six boys being sexually molested in the US, a father must do all within his means to protect his children.
Once a father knows that every child is vulnerable to sexual molestation, together with his wife, he must put some measures in place to safeguard his children.
These include: 1.
Commit your children in to the Lord's hands and ask Him to protect them from every form of evil.
2.
Introduce your child to biblical instructions about what is right and wrong.
Express disapproval of inappropriate behaviour whenever it is displayed.
3.
From a tender age help your child build a personal value system that enables your child love what is good and flee from what is evil.
4.
A good and secure Father-Child relationship where in a father creates an atmosphere where the child can speak without inhibition helps in making his dad accessible when the time comes to hint him of possible sexual molestation.
5.
Children who are well clothed from early infancy and who are taught that certain parts of the body are private grow up to be sensitive to sexual touching and can report sex offenders who are disturbing them.
6.
A dad must have a high index of suspicion when there are guests in the home and must take necessary measures to protect his children.
Do not leave your children with persons you do not trust.
7.
A Dad must check with the police about the safety of his neighbourhood as far as sex offenders are concerned.
A father who lives in a neighbourhood that has a lot of sex offenders stands the risk of having his children molested.
8.
Talk often and openly about sexual development, behaviour and abuse.
In this way your child would not be inhibited when it comes to making disclosures about the amorous moves of sex offenders.
9.
Use proper or semi proper names for body parts such as penis and vagina and describe these parts as private which should not be accessed by others.
10.
Empower your children to tell you or their mother when anyone touches them in their private parts or tries to make them look or touch another person's private part, or shows them pictures of their private parts, talks to them about sex or tries to see their nakedness while in the bathroom.
This will give the child molester out.
11.
Tell your children that some persons have a habit of touching the private parts of others and then make such incidents look accidental.
Tell them to inform you when such persons accidentally touch them.
12.
Tell your children that persons who touch the private parts of others can cause injuries to innocent persons and so should be reported to you before they hurt innocent persons.
Touching or looking at the private parts of others is as much a wrong doing like cursing and stealing.
13.
Tell them it is wrong for them to play with the private parts of other children, however when they commit such an offense you would not get mad at them.
You would only repeat to them why such an action is not good.
14.
Tell them to always disclose to you when an older person gives a gift to them so that you can be sure it was done out of good naturedness.
15.
Help them choose some members of the family, church, neighbor, uncle or aunt they can talk to if for any reason they cannot talk to you.
16.
Install filtering devices in to your child's computer that will enable you monitor what you child does online.
You will be able to know who your child chats with while surfing on the internet and so preempt pedophiles from getting at your child.
