Roberto Benigni Set for "La Tigre e la Neve"
Academy Award-winner Roberto Benigni will climb back in the director's chair for the comedy, "La Tigre e la neve" ("The Tiger and the Snow"). Benigni will also star in the production, which will also feature his actress wife, Nicoletta Brashi, and Jean Reno.
According to Variety, "The Tiger" is the story of a poet in Iraq and will be set against the backdrop of the American-led invasion. Shooting will begin in September 2004 and will start out in Rome before moving on to Tunisia and Umbria.
"The Tiger and the Snow" was written by Benigni and Vincenzo Cerami and is being produced by Benigni's Melampo and Elda Ferri.
