How to Make a Metallic Worship Hoop
- 1). Loosen the screw on the embroidery hoop and remove the innermost hoop. Paint your hoops with metallic acrylic paint that matches the Mylar streamers.
- 2). Apply an even layer of craft glue around the outside of the inner hoop and brush it evenly with a crafting paint brush. Let the glue get tacky while you separate the Mylar streamers.
- 3). Arrange the bands of streamers according to color. Five layers of Mylar streamers are recommended because the streamers can break off during worship and storage.
- 4). Place one edge of the Mylar streamer onto the hoop directly over the glue. Use a clothespin to hold the streamers in place. Work your way around the edge of the hoop, attaching the Mylar and clothespins. Stop when you have an opening of four inches between the ends of the Mylar tinsel. This area is your handle and shouldn't have streamers.
- 5). Brush on a second coat of glue to apply the next layer of Mylar streamers. Remove a clothespin, align the Mylar atop the first layer and replace the clothespin until the glue dries. Continue in this manner until all layers of metallic Mylar have been wrapped around the worship hoop.
- 6). Lay the worship hoop down on a flat surface and spread the streamers away from the hoop's center. Slide the outer ring of the embroidery hoop over the inner ring and tighten the screw.
- 7). Use a fine tipped permanent marker and write a scripture or inspirational words on the outside edge of your worship hoop. Glue ribbon to the outside edge of the worship hoop instead of writing scripture, for a different look.
