Ways on How to Help Enhance our Concentration

Did you know that every time we worry and get stressed our concentration, short term memory, as well as focus becomes poorer? This is because stress, worry, depression, fear, anger, anxiety cause our brain to focus more on its primitive survival. But parts of our brain that are related to intellectual abilities, learning, and concentration are not important for survival. Therefore, the more irritated, flustered, and unsure we are, the less our brain works even if we try hard to do it.

So, in order to improve our concentration, we must be at the right mind set to avoid our brain to downshift to its survival mode. The following are some of the little things that you can do to for you to always be in the good mood.

1. An effective and easy way to make you feel secured and safe is to imagine that you are inside a protective bubble. You can even imagine the colour of your bubble that you want. And this bubble is your shield against things or people that are threatening you. Try practicing to flick other people's irritating actions, rejections, or criticisms out of your imaginative bubble. You can bounce out from your bubble all those irritations and through this you can increase your concentration. Do not accept in your mind the negative energy, inhale and exhale deeply to bounce out unwanted thoughts.

2. If you have no self motivation and you want to be in inspiration mode, try this easy way on how to switch to self motivation. You do not need to exert extra effort to do it, do not put pressure on to yourself. You are just creating stress that is bad for your brain. You just sit comfortably and then relax your shoulders, jaw muscles, and ears. Imagine that you are inside your bubble while your eyes closed. Think of the instances or places that you did something well. Feel again the experience, the sounds, and the smell. Relax and enjoy again your achievement. Slowly open your eyes and then roll those shoulders.

3. Every time you did something better even if the percentage increase is negligible, rejoice in your improvement. Touch your breastbone to the spot it has slight bulge. Store here all your improvements and successes. Remember this spot every time you did well. Then, every time you feel down, just tap this area reminding you that you have the capacity of doing well.

4. In times when you feel good about yourself or you are in a nice mood, touch your breastbone. So in the future every time you feel down, you just simply touch your breastbone to feel the good mood again. Your breastbone is just like a treasure chest where you store and accumulate positive energy so that every time you need it you just get energy from it.

5. You can also use the Mona Lisa smile, allow a little smile in your face particularly around your eye area. Breathe deeply and allow your shoulders to relax. Change your posture and your mind set will transform.
