Brazilian Restaurants Near Anaheim

    Agora Churrascaria

    • About 20 minutes from Anaheim in in Irvine, some 16 different meats make the rounds at Agora Churrascaria and include different varieties of beef, chicken, lamb and pork spit-cooked over a wood charcoal grill. The spacious dining room has high plank ceilings with tall natural wood beams and cobblestone walls. Though attractive, the "Los Angeles Times" complained Agora lacked the "Samba vibe." Highlights on the granite salad bar include large shrimp cocktail and feijoada-a pork and black bean stew. Servers dressed in the traditional wear of the Gauchos from the south of Brazil will serve meats and rich, airy cheese bread at the table. An açai martini made with the native Brazilian fruit is a feature on the cocktail menu. The prix-fixe dinner price is reduced at lunch and for kids. A salad bar only price is an option if guests want to forgo the meat.

    Amazon BBQ

    • Amazon BBQ is located just a few miles outside of Anaheim and takes the prize for most unusual meat offerings with alligator, duck, rabbit and quail rounding out the list of 15 to 20 daily selections. Traditional beef, pork and poultry are available too for the faint of heart. The restaurant's loud exterior resembles a fast food restaurant and is misleading, as the inside is elegant. An elaborate floral arrangement and recessed cloud-painted ceiling are the crowning glory of the ample salad bar that has handmade sushi, hot dishes, salads and seafood. There are four different dining rooms in the salon, plus two private rooms for private events up to 50 guests.

    Green Field Churrascaria

    • Green Field Churrascaria has two Anaheim-area locations; 25 minutes southwest in Long Beach and 30 minutes north in West Covina. While the restaurant offers a traditional plate of feijoada on the salad bar, there isn't much more authentic according to the "Los Angeles Times," who complained the caipirinhas (the national drink of Brazil, traditionally made with fresh muddled limes, sugar and cachaça-a dangerously potent liquor made in Brazil from sugar cane) were made with sour mix and there was no "cultural ambiance." An Urban Spoon reviewer suggests going to the restaurant at lunchtime for drastically reduced prices. Guaraná soft drink and Brahma beer are two Brazilian imports that guests can enjoy at Green Field Churrascaria. Feijoada is offered on Wednesday and Saturday. A 10 percent discount is available to seniors.
