Beachfront Hotels in Gulf Shores, Alabama

      Gulf Shores, Alabama is located about 35 miles west of Pensacola, Florida on the Gulf of Mexico, close to Mobile Bay. The white sand beaches and sparkling turquoise water are among the main attractions, as is Fort Morgan, a Civil War museum and state park. There are 15 golf clubs in the area, many of them offering championship courses. Gulf Shores was awarded a Reader's Choice Award as the third best U.S. beach destination in Southern Living Magazine in 2009.

    Best Western on the Beach

    • The Best Western, a beachfront hotel in Gulf Shores, features three pools: indoor, outdoor and kiddie, with two hot tubs. All rooms have balconies with either street or beachfront view with a commensurate difference in price. Kitchenettes are available upon request. Wireless Internet access is free and no pets are allowed. The Island Pancake House is on the premises; hours are seasonal. The hotel is less than a half mile from deep sea fishing and a mile from Waterville USA Water Park. AAA, which gives it two stars, pronounces the Best Western on the Beach a "great value."

    Shoreline Towers

    • The Shoreline Towers bills itself as "Luxury by the Gulf". Each room in the hotel has at least 1,450 square feet with a full kitchen, living room, dining room, balcony and two or three bedrooms. A pool is on the beachfront property as are outdoor cooking grills. Rates are seasonal; the low season is after Labor Day to the end of February, while May 25 to Labor Day make up the high season. Except for the summer season and holidays, discounts are available for weekly stays or longer. There is no restaurant on the premises, but eight restaurants are less than a mile away.

    Hilton Garden Inn Orange Beach Beachfront

    • Orange Beach, which borders Gulf Shores, offers visitors The Hilton Garden Inn, a beachfront hotel with a heated pool, hot tub and fitness center. Internet access, networked wireless printing, as well as parking are provided free of charge for guests. Room rates vary by view, from parking lot to beachfront. Discounts are available for AAA members, seniors and by booking a non-refundable room. The sole restaurant on the premises, the Gulf Breeze Café, is open for breakfast only. However, guests can purchase readymade food at the in-house Pavilion Pantry. Microwave ovens and mini refrigerators are available in every guestroom. Additionally, room service is available from Bubba's Seafood, a nearby restaurant. Bon Secour National Wildlife Center is just 3 miles away; jet skiing is one mile. AAA gives this property three stars.
