The "Barcelona" Housing Complex on Amsterdam"s KNSM Island

Belgian architect Bruno Albert is responsible for the massive "Barcelona" housing block, located on Amsterdam's KNSM Island. The block contains 325 residences and features an inner courtyard.

KNSM is an acronym for Koninklijke Nederlandse Stoomboot Maatschappij, which means "Royal Dutch Steamboat Company," the corporation for which the island was originally built in the years after 1876.
