- 1). First, bore drill holes across the end of the wood floor board that you are replacing as well as the middle of the board. Use a bit spade.
- 2). Second, split the board length wise using a wood chisel in between the holes.
- 3). Next, using a pry bar into the split, easily lift up the old wood floor board. If there are any nails left over pull them out with a claw hammer.
- 4). Next, cut the replacement wood floor board for a tight fit and place the board into the groove of the new board into the tongue of the board next to it.
- 5). Last, apply glue to the subfloor and tap the boards into place with a hammer. Make sure to use a hammer block to protect the wood.
