Quarry Tile Colors

    Red

    • The most common color of quarry tile, red comes in several shades from bright and prominent to rustic and organic. Proprietary shades of red quarry tile include Red Paver from Metropolitan Ceramics, which appears as the muted color of aged brick, Red Abrasive from E Quarry Tile, which features flecks of concrete gray and the vibrant Pecan from Quarry Tile Company.

    Gray

    • Gray is available in several shades and appears as different types of stone. Gray is a cool and neutral color and will not absorb or reflect a great deal of sunlight except for the very darkest shades. This makes the color useful in rooms of all sizes, because it won't reduce the perceived size of the room. The darker grays offered for quarry tile include Coal from the Quarry Tile Company, medium tones include the grayish-brown Bedrock and lighter colors include Seneca Tile's Caribbean.

    Brown

    • Organic and warm, brown tiles also appear as baked clay and come in a variety of light and dark shades. The light brown Clay and chocolaty Chestnut are among the shades offered by Seneca Tile, while Quarry Tile Company has a darker brown Root Beer and Metropolitan Ceramics offers the speckled brown Cobblestone.

    Green

    • Some specialty manufacturers offer green quarry tile, although it's not a common color. Seneca Tile offers Emerald, which is a muted, stony green color, while Quarry Tile Company features shades such as the evergreen Alpine, the aquamarine shade Bermuda or the green felt color Tahoe.

    Blue

    • Blue is not common as a solid color for quarry tile, but it is a tint used in combination with other colors such as gray and red. Red Paver from Metropolitan Ceramics offers a bluish tint over the brick red coloring to promote a look of aging, while Seneca Tiles uses blue to darken and enrich gray in Indigo. Solid blue colors are available in several specialty colors by Quarry Tile Company, including the ocean blue Marine, baby blue Chambray and the deep and rich Aquarius.
