How to Request a Second Mailbox Key
- 1). Go to the post office counter and request additional keys for your P.O. box. Present a picture ID as proof of ownership of the box.
- 2). Ask for up to five more keys and prepare to pay the modest fee for each key (as of April, 2011 the fee is one dollar per key).
- 3). Receive the new keys. Go to your mailbox to test them and ensure they work properly.
