How to Read a Metric Ruler in FunBrain
- 1). Go to FunBrain's free ruler game website page at http://www.funbrain.com/measure/.
- 2). Locate the three red links that are labeled "Easy Centimeters," "Medium Centimeters," and "Hard Centimeters." A metric ruler has centimeters as its main measurement and millimeters for its incremental measurements. Your child can play each level as he progresses in his understanding of the metric ruler.
- 3). Click on the "Easy Centimeters" link. You will be directed to a new screen, where you will see a brown ruler on the top of the screen. You also will see a thick red line above the ruler. The line will stop at a numeral on the ruler. Your child can identify which number that is, and click on the correct answer from the choices provided below the ruler.
- 4). Repeat "Step 3" until you have completed the game. Each time you click on an answer, FunBrain will move to the next question. You will see a new ruler and a new set of answer choices. FunBrain also will tell you if you got the previous question correct by with a printed "Right!" or wrong with a printed "Oops!"
- 5). Move to the next levels using this same technique.
