Sand Bag Games

    Sand Bag Baseball

    • Sand bag baseball has similar rules to the regular game of baseball. A player stands 21 feet from a series of holes. The person at bat employs sandbags instead of a bat and attempts to toss the sand bag into the appropriate hole to advance a teammate and score. The holes are arranged on a 2 feet by 3 feet piece of plywood. The bottom row has a single rectangular hole 5 inches by 8 inches labeled "Foul." The second line of holes consists of three circles about 4 inches apart. From left to right they read "Single," "Triple" and "Single." The next line reads "Double," "Home run" and "Double." Finally the last row reads "Out," "Triple" and "Out." If your tossed bag misses all the holes that is a strike, three strikes and you are out just like real baseball. If the sand bag goes into an "Out" hole that records an out too. Like the regular game, you get three strikes and three outs. There can be five to 12 players on each team.

    Sand Bag Tic-Tac-Toe

    • Sand bag tic-tac-toe plays like the regular game except the playing board has holes in it. Each person playing has three same-colored sand bags. Two players take turns standing 21 feet from the board, throwing the sand bags into the square of there choosing. The first player to obtain three bags in a row horizontally, vertically or diagonally is the winner. The board has three holes on top, three in the middle and three on the bottom. Tic-tac-toe is great for younger players to test their skills.

    Sand Bag Toss

    • Players stand 21 feet from the board and toss sand bags at a board with holes in it. Both players get three tries to land the sand bags into the hole of their choosing. The board has three rows of holes with three holes in each row. Each hole has points assigned to them. The points read from left to right, 75, 150 and 50. The second row reads 300, 500 and 200. The last row reads 25,100 and 25. The player scoring the highest number of points wins.
