How to Calculate the Height of a Child

    • 1). Have your child stand with his back against a flat surface, like a wall. The child's legs, back and head should all be touching the flat surface.

    • 2). Line a pencil up with the top of your child's head and make a mark against the wall at this point. Allow the child to move away from the wall.

    • 3). Measure the distance from the mark on the wall to the floor. The number on your tape measure is the height, in inches, of the child.
