Yeast Infection Relief

A group of microscopic fungi of the Candida species causes yeast infection.
It can occur around dentures and beneath skin folds which are warm and moist.

While some people like to apply yogurt and garlic to the affected areas, others try various types of chemical substances.
Both garlic and yogurt can be directly applied on the infected skin.
Boric acid capsules can be placed on the infected areas for relief and cure.
They effectively melt in the warm and moist conditions, providing instant relief and are also known to prevent repeated episodes of infection.
About a tablespoon of potassium sorbate can be added to a cup of water and the solution can be applied to the infected areas with cotton.
This offers relief from yeast infection.
Another chemical substance named gentian violet is effective in providing relief from yeast infection.
Douching can provide relief in case of vaginal yeast infections.
1 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide can be mixed with a cup of water and used for douching once a day.
Another effective anti-yeast treatment that can be used for douching consists of the usage of tea tree oil in a diluted form.
Herbal douches can also be prepared by mixing equal parts of raspberry, sage or comfrey leaf with ¼ part goldenseal.
This can be used for making a tea and adding vinegar and acidophilus powder to it would make a solution that would be ideal for douching.
In order to get relief from yeast infection various kinds of acidic douches are also used.
They help in restoring the natural pH level of the infected area and offer relief.
Lemon juice, white or cidar vinegar or a teaspoon of Vitamin C can be added to a quarter of water.
Mild infections can be cured with this and when combined with medicine, this can even cure severe infections.
Apart from these methods, there are certain things that should be avoided to get relief.
Birth control pills and antibiotics should be avoided as far as possible.
Food containing sugar and complex carbohydrates should also be avoided.
Maintaining body hygiene is also essential for preventing further infections.
One should drink lots of water and the diet can comprise of yogurt and other agents which are known to have antifungal properties.
Over-the-counter drugs such as Miconazole, Butoconazole, Clotrimazole etc.
can be used for getting relief from yeast infections.
Alternating the use of prescribed and over-the-counter medicines can completely cure the infection.
