Sherry Amatenstein, LCSW Bio

Sherry has written lifestyle, entertainment pieces, essays, humor, relationship self-help and travel articles for 20 years. Before becoming a freelancer, she spent many years on staff at magazine companies and websites including Hearst Corporation and iVillage.

She is also a couples counselor and the author of three books including Love Lessons from Bad Breakups and The Complete Marriage Counselor


She conducts workshops for couples around the country and has appeared as a “relationship expert” on many TV and radio programs including Today, Early Show and NPR’s Studio 360.

Sherry’s work has appeared in Brides, Redbook, For the Bride, USA Weekend, Vox.com, Marie Claire, TV Guide, NY Daily News, Woman’s Day, More.com and many other print and online publications.

She has contributed to anthologies including Shades of Blue and is editing an anthology for Seal Press called Shrink/Shrunk: A Shockingly Honest Look at the Therapeutic Experience from Both Sides of the Couch.

Education:

Sherry has a BA from Queens College and is a graduate of the Wurzweiller School of Social Work.
