- All Office 2007 programs run natively in Windows XP, and require no additional configuration to tailor the programs to the operating system. Computers running Windows XP need Service Pack 2 or later installed for Office 2007 to run properly.
- Service Pack 2 is included with some newer copies of the XP operating system. You can determine which Service Packs your machine includes by opening the "System" icon in the Control Panel. If you need to install Service Pack 2, download it from the Microsoft website.
- While Windows XP runs the core Office 2007 applications natively, some accessories and Office services have additional software requirements that an XP machine may not have pre-installed. These include Windows Desktop Search 3 or later and Internet Explorer 6 or later, both of which are available as free downloads from Microsoft's website.
