How to Make a Custom Karaoke DVD Using MP3 Songs & DVD Movies
- 1). Make a list of all the songs that you would like to include in your karaoke DVD disc. You can either copy ("rip") them from any music CD or download them from a music store such as iTunes or Amazon.
- 2). Remove vocals from each song by using vocal-removing software. Applications, such as Audacity, Winamp or Wavosaur allow you to remove or reduce vocals from songs so you could use them for karaoke. Save your files as MP3 or WAV once the vocals are removed.
- 3). Download and install a karaoke-burning software that produces CDG discs (CD + Graphics) and converts them to video files. This format will allow you to make discs that include both music and onscreen graphics (lyrics or videos). See resources for downloading such software.
- 4). Launch the karaoke burning software after installation. Use the “Browse”/“Add File” button for loading each karaoke song into the application. Once you load the track into the application, use the text box or “Text” option to add lyrics to the karaoke track.
- 5). Set the video output format to MPG, AVI or WMV. Select the “Convert”/“Encode” option to start encoding the files.
- 6). Open Windows DVD Maker on the computer by going to Start > All Programs > Windows DVD Maker.
- 7). Click the “Add File” button. Now locate your karaoke video file from the “Add File” navigation menu. Click “Open” to add the file to Windows DVD Maker. Add all the songs that you want on the DVD.
- 8). Click on “Next.” Select a menu template from the panel and click the “Menu Text” option. This option will allow you to add custom text to the DVD’s menu.
- 9). Insert a blank DVD into the computer’s DVD drive, and click the “Burn” button on Windows DVD Maker window.
