Games to Play by the Pool
- Marco Polo is a time-tested pool game ideal for kids of all ages. Choose one person and give them a pair of darkened goggles or blindfold them. All of the other people spread out in the pool and when the person who is blindfolded calls out "Marco," all the other people must answer "Polo." The idea is for the blindfolded person to find someone based solely on hearing them. When he does, he tags them by touching her and the tagged person takes the blindfold. The players change position and the game begins again.
- This game is a very easy one to play. Simply use some item (hair ties work well) and throw them on the bottom of the pool. Now have the kids dive for the rings and retrieve them one at a time. The player who retrieves the most rings (or hair ties) wins. You can use party favors as prizes and have the winner reach in a bag to pick his prize.
- Buy a volleyball net for the pool. Divide the kids up into two teams and have one team on each side of the volleyball net. Play water volleyball with the same rules as volleyball out of the water with the kids hitting the ball over the net to the other side where the other team hits it back without letting the ball touch the water.
- Divide the kids into two teams and then divide each team into two halves with one-half of each team on either side of the pool. Give each team an oversize t-shirt. When you call go, each team leader puts on the t-shirt and swims to their teammates on the other side of the pool. When they reach the other side, he takes off the t-shirt and hands it to the next team member who puts it on and swims to the other side. First team to complete this relay task wins the race.
