Operating System

• The Sims 2 officially works on Windows 2000, 98, ME, XP and Vista. According to Microsoft, it also works on Windows 7.
  
  

Graphics Card

• Ideally, a Sims 2 system will have an Nvidia Quadro, GeForce2 or ATI Radeon 7000 or higher. (Note that the ATI Radeon HD 2000 is higher than the non-HD 7000.) The Sims 2 might still run on systems with weaker graphics cards, if the processor can compensate.
  
  

Processor

• The Sims 2 needs a processor with at least an 800-megahertz clock speed. If the system has a weak graphics card, then its processor must be at least 2 gigahertz.
  
  

RAM

• The game needs at least 256 megabytes of random access memory.
  
  

Hard Drive

• The game takes up 3.5 gigabytes of hard drive space.
