Discovering that you have roaches in your house can be very aggravating.
Many people think that if they only see a few that it is no big deal.
The reality is that roaches are nocturnal and if you are seeing one or two then the odds are that you have hundreds of them.
Therefore, if you are seeing them you should act quickly to get them out of your home.
The first thing you need to do to rid you home of these pest is to make your house as clean as you can.
Roaches need very little food to survive.
They are able to live off of crumbs that we may not even notice.
You should not leave water in your kitchen sink and wipe up all liquid spills because if roaches do not have access to liquids they will not live.
After cleaning you need to figure out how the roaches are getting into your home.
You should fix all cracks and holes that you find.
Placing screens over you windows will also help.
If you have old or unused furniture in you home you may consider getting rid of it because roaches love to live in things such as this.
Once you know where they are coming from it is now time to get rid of them.
Here are some common ways to get rid of roaches.
Take crumbled up bay leaves and put them around corners and places where you have saw roaches.
This will make them want to leave.
Borax is great to put out in places that you have spotted roaches.
It will hurt their shell when it touches it and they will get dehydrated.
Roach baits are inexpensive and can be placed anywhere you feel roaches may be.
The roach will go to the bait and take it back to the other roaches.
You should replace them every 2-3 months for them to be most effective.
Bug bombs are effective in getting rid of all types of bugs including roaches.
You can spray pesticides in your home.
These should be used with extreme caution because they are poisonous and could be dangerous if not used properly.
They also have a foul smell so your house needs to be well ventilated when being used.
Sometimes pesticides are the only way to get roaches out of your home.
Once the roaches are gone you want to do all you can to prevent re-infestation.
Doing things such as emptying garbage regularly, and cleaning up spills as soon as they happen will help you keep your home roach free.
