How to Disable Norton in Vista
- 1). Double-click on the Norton 360 desktop icon to open and run it and click the "Task and Settings" button in the application window.
- 2). Click on the "Change Advanced Settings" option. Select the "Virus & Spyware Protection Settings" option. This option is located under the "Advanced Settings" window.
- 3). Remove the check mark from the "Turn on auto-protect" option box. Click on the "Apply" button to initiate changes. Choose the "Until I turn it back on" option that is found under the "How long would you like to disable Auto-Protect for?" category and click on "OK."
- 4). Click on the "Firewall Protection Settings" option. Select "Off" under the "Firewall" section. Under the "How long should the firewall remain turned off?" category, you will see the "Until I turn it back on" option. Click on this option.
- 5). Click on the "OK" button to save and initiate changes. Norton in Vista is now disabled.
