    • A social caseworker manager must have either a bachelor's or graduate degree from a social work program. This ensures that the case manager possesses the skills, knowledge, and experience to perform management duties.

    Significance

    • The primary goal of a social caseworker is to optimize the client's ability to function in life. The case manager's job is enhancing the developmental, coping, and problem solving capabilities of their clients.

    • According to the Society for Social Work Leadership in Healthcare, case management has psychosocial and clinical components. For example, in addition to financial planning, a caseworker may also conduct patient and family counseling.

    • Social caseworkers also provide people with information. They link people to the service, resource, or opportunity their clients need.

    • Through case management, social workers are able to evaluate and design a treatment plan for their clients. Social case management workers are needed to help people who come to governmental or nonprofit organizations receive the social services or health care that is most suited for their needs.
