How to Stop Snoring Today

Snoring is caused by a vibration in the airway connecting the nose and the mouth producing a rattling sound is referred to as snoring.
Snoring carries a lot of social stigma and medical consequences therefore finding an effective cure is recommended.
But as a first step you need to find out the reason causing this problem before you can stop snoring.
Each person has a different cause, for some it might be a tense jaw which causes them to sleep with their mouths open, thus causing the soft tissues to vibrate and cause the snoring sound.
While for others it might be an allergy which is clogging the trachea and the airway, producing a sound each time the person breathes.
Enlarged Adenoids or tonsils can also restrict the air passage.
Some have a disproportionately large tongue that prevents unrestricted airflow.
Excess weight around the neck area leading to thickening of tissue in the trachea also leads to snoring.
Snoring is said to be more rampant among men probably because of their longer necks and possibility for excess fat around that area restricting air flow.
Also women produce a hormone called Progesterone which is an aid in preventing or reducing snoring.
In fact there are some anti snoring remedies which involve use of progesterone therapy to cure snoring in men.
Snoring cures come in various forms like CPAP or continuous positive airway pressure.
This is a device which can be kept close to your bed and a machine blows pressurized air into your face through a mask attached to your face, all night.
This method has proven to be effective in many cases but can be uncomfortable as well as expensive.
There are some dental devices like mouth guards made out of acrylic which fit into the snorer's mouth.
There are other external devices which have to be placed in such a way as to adjust the position of the lower jaw.
Some people are reading to try out some exercises which involve the muscles of the mouth and the jaw for just about 3-4 minutes in a day which have a profound effect on their snoring habits.
Also, practice sleeping on your side on an elevated bed for some good results.
Ultimately after experimenting with a number of remedial measures, the snorer may go in for surgery.
This is to widen the air passage to make the breathing, especially at night time easier and cure snoring.
