- 1). Open a new webpage using your Internet browser.
- 2). Hold down the Command or Control button and the letter "T" at the same time to open a new tab. Use the Control button if you are on a Windows computer and the Command button if you are using a Mac computer. Both are located to the left and right of the space bar.
- 3). Go to File and then "New Tab" to open a new tab from the menu bar instead of using the Control/Command and "T" option. While using Internet Explorer, you can also click on the New Tab button on the top right of your current Internet tab. If you're using Google Chrome or Firefox, you can click on the small plus ("+") button to the right of your current Internet tab.
- 4). Open a link in a new tab instead of a new window by holding down Control or Command and clicking on the link.
