How to Tie a Perfect Tie
- 1). Hold the tie around your neck with the tail on the left and its tip just reaching the second button from the bottom of your shirt.
- 2). Cross the main body of the tie over the tail, creating a loop.
- 3). Pass the main body of tie through the loop from the back, then over the tail section just above the point where the two ends cross.
- 4). Bring the main body behind the loop, then wrap the end of the main body tightly around the main section of the knot. This will create a second wrap that matches the wrap around the tail -- a V-shape above the crossing point.
- 5). Pass the main body across the front of the V-shape.
- 6). Tuck the main body between the V-shape and the section passing over the V-shape.
- 7). Pinch the knot at the bottom of the triangle.
- 8). Press up on the knot while pulling down on the tail of the tie to tighten.
- 9). Fold your collar down over the tie so only the knot and the body are exposed.
