How to Remove Front Seats From a Jetta
- 1). Locate the two bolts that secure the front of the seat's frame to the floor, and remove them with a socket and ratchet. The metal frame is clearly visible under the seat.
- 2). Turn the ignition key on to the auxiliary position, and use the controller on the side of the driver's seat to move the seat to its most forward position. If removing the passenger seat, pull up on the bar located under the front of the seat and slide the base of the seat forward.
- 3). Locate the white wiring harness under the driver's side seat, on the floorboard in a cutout in the carpet. The harness measures approximately 1 inch in length. Lift up on the lock that connects the two ends of the harness together, then pull the two ends apart. This action disconnects the seat's electrical control module from the vehicle. The passenger seat does not have an electrical harness connected to it.
- 4). Locate the two bolts that secure the back of the seat's frame to the floor, and remove them with a socket and ratchet. Moving the seat forward exposes the back half of the frame that secures the seat to the floor, making it easy to locate the bolts.
- 5). Lift up and pull the seat out of the Jetta.
