How to Find an Attorney in Texas
- 1). Navigate to the State Bar of Texas’ website search page at texasbar.com/am/template.cfm?section=Advanced_Search.
- 2). Select the “Find a Colleague” tab on the left if you’re an attorney trying to locate a colleague or the “Not a Lawyer” tab to the right if you are not an attorney.
- 3). Enter the first and last name of the attorney you’re trying to contact and the attorney's location. If you are an attorney, enter your colleague's education, certifications or services.
- 4). You can also earch by the type of legal help you need (e.g., accidents, bankruptcies, business, etc.) or by location.
- 5). Use the lower portion of the nonlawyers tab to enter the name of a lawyer you might be considering to check on his status with the Texas Bar and whether he has any disciplinary history.
