Survivor: Gabon Recap -- Episode Six
The Fang tribe is hungry. They are tired. They are losing hope. And Crystal tripped over the rice and spilled it. Matty acts like she did it on purpose. Crystal doesn’t eat any rice since she knocked a portion over. She says she doesn’t want to feel like she took away from anyone. Ace says she did him a favor and she will be the next lamb to slaughter.
Over at Kota things are going a bit better with food.
Charlie, Marcus and Corinne seem to have their alliance and Dan is uncomfortable with it. He tells them he likes to be part of things. Corinne thinks he’s like a kid seeking approval. Even Marcus sees Dan as paranoid.
Matty is still complaining about losing again. He’s upset about Sugar. He tries to convince Ace that the rest of them can vote for Sugar and he won’t have to, so it won’t seem as if he’s backstabbing her. Ace says they have the idol and need to keep her. Kenny and Crystal talk about blindsiding Ace, and Kenny says he needs to talk to Sugar. The same Sugar that trusts Ace.
The Kota team relishes in their win.
They take a scenic trip to the picnic setup, near a massive crater that they say made the whole game worth it. During their picnic, a man arrives with letters from home that they cry and laugh over. Bob (Bill Nye the Science Guy) really cries over letter from his kids.
…and Sugar is sunbathing in the Sugar Shack. She thinks it’s Ace keeping her in the game. She says she isn’t stupid, she sticking with Ace because he is the strongest player. And as many times as she’s been on Exile Island eating good, Sugar hasn’t garnered enough strength to win a challenge.
Ken knows Matty and Ace want to get rid of Crystal. He pulls Sugar aside and tells her that Ace said that he can control her. Sugar doesn’t know who to trust. Kenny tells Crystal that Sugar is with them. Ace does ask Sugar for the idol, and she tells him she needs to think about it.
Next up, Kota needs to figure out who’s leaving. Paranoid Dan asks Marcus if he’s going. He points out that he feels Susie should go. Randy joins forces with Marcus, Corinne and Charlie. They discuss the fact that Dan and Susie are the liabilities. Bob is seen as loyal and no threat. Corinne tells Susie that she feels Dan is the one being voted off. Susie tells Corinne that she would have voted for her. That basically seals Susie’s fate. They meet with Jeff and vote. Well knock me over, ‘cause Dan went home! Now Susie and Corinne get to settle the whole “I’m stronger than you” issue over a pot of rice. Wow.

THE REWARD CHALLENGE
The game is Keep Away. Two members of a tribe toss a breakable ball back and forth while an opposing team member tries to break the ball. The winners get picked up by helicopter for a picnic and send one member to Exile. Kota scores all three balls. Of course, Sugar is sent back to Exile for a 5th time. Matty feels that Sugar is worthless in the challenges and needs to go home.Matty is still complaining about losing again. He’s upset about Sugar. IMMUNITY CHALLENGE
Sugar returns with a full belly. Jeff tells them that both tribes will be going to council that night to nominate someone from their tribe. They are playing for individual immunity. They will be matched up in two’s to do a log roll over water. Dan and Ace start if off. Dan falls off. Thank God Bob didn’t wear tighty whities like I imagined he would. For the final round, all three remaining players get on the log. Ace, Sugar and Marcus walk the log. Sugar drops, then Ace, leaving Marcus to win immunity. Marcus reads “the Twist”, choose one member of the other tribe for immunity, and he gives it to Sugar. He interviews that he hopes that Sugar is smart enough not to give the immunity idol to any other player so they can lose a more powerful player.Ken knows Matty and Ace want to get rid of Crystal. DOUBLE TRIBAL COUNCIL
Fang goes to council first. Sugar says that Crystal spilled the rice, but didn’t eat. They argue about how the whole argument went down after the incident. Sugar sits there with her ugly idol necklace, and I can only hope holding the other immunity idol as well. They vote. No one plays a hidden idol. Sugar finally used her head, as Ace is the 7th person voted out. Matty can’t believe it.Next up, Kota needs to figure out who’s leaving. Paranoid Dan asks Marcus if he’s going.
