Definition:

The Skagerrak is an arm of the North Sea that passes between Denmark's Jutland region and southern Norway. The Skagerrak is 150 miles (240 kilometers) long and about 80 miles (128 kilometers) wide, geographically in the shape of a triangle.

Together with the Kattegat and the Oresund Strait, the Skagerrak Strait connects the North Sea with the Baltic Sea. The meeting of the two seas often causes storms in the area.

The Skagerrak is a busy area for shipping and oil drilling.
