Social Media Do"s And Don"ts

Social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube are a great way to get your message out to your audience, but hey, you already knew that if you've been reading this site.
It takes a lot of effort to set up and manage a successful social media marketing campaign.
Each site has it's own set of benefits, and drawbacks, and you have to learn how to work with each site effectively.
While it's important to learn the ins and outs of each site, there are a few all purpose do's and don'ts you should keep in mind as you develop your social media marketing campaign.
Do's Be Friendly The key word in social media is social.
If you want to succeed at getting your message out to your target audience, you first have to win their trust.
You can do that by interacting with them in a friendly, and meaningful way.
Take the time to answer their questions, and be sure to reply to them if they message you.
Interacting with other users is an essential part of building your marketing campaign.
Update Often Be sure to update your accounts every day.
It doesn't take long to post a few updates, fifteen minutes here and there should do the trick.
If other users see you as an active user, they'll be more likely to pay more attention to you in the long run.
Don'ts Don't Spam Other Users You might not feel like you're spamming, but if you're sending out a lot of messages and posts about your own site, and products, then that's how other social media users see you.
Be sure to mix things up by posting other messages, and take the time to interact with other users in a meaningful way, rather than just sending them links to your site.
Don't Ignore Criticism Social media sites have a lot of users spanning a lot of different demographics.
Your customers are there, and they have opinions to share with you.
When you get a criticism frequently, take it to heart, and adjust your products or your strategy to correct the issue rather than just ignoring it.
If you keep these do's and don'ts in mind as you build up your social media marketing efforts, you'll be on your way to social media success in no time.
