Satellite Internet For Social Networking

One of the most popular websites that people use while surfing their satellite Internet is Facebook.
Facebook is the number one social networking site in the world and only continues to grow as its gets older.
Facebook started several years ago as a social networking site for college students.
It started with just two colleges in the Boston area, Tufts University and Harvard University.
The first version of Facebook allowed users to create a profile, consisting of a photo and an information section.
Then, people could "friend" people that they knew from college and see their friends' friends and read their profiles.
Facebook started to grow as it gained its first users and encompassed more and more colleges, starting on the east coast and then branching out to other top tier schools around the country.
These users could join their school's network, to interact with other students who were in the same network.
Student could also join city networks, and interact with people in their city network.
They added features that would keep people on the site longer, such as adding the applications feature and the ability to upload whole photo albums.
The popularity of the site skyrocketed and people started joining by the thousands.
After Facebook grew its user base to reach the millions, investors realized what a great platform Facebook had created and they decided to invest more and open up user ship to companies and high school students.
Today, anyone can join Facebook and they do not have to be part of a network.
There are many more features that Facebook has added over the years, but the general look and feel of the site has remained the same.
Now people can update their status, play games, have live Facebook chats with their friends, and post jobs and apartments.
It has really grown to be a world wide, international community that keeps people in touch.
Since Facebook is so popular, people like to use it to keep in touch with one another in addition or in place of a regular email or phone call.
So when traveling, its nice to be able to pop into a cyber café and check Facebook.
No matter how remote your travel location may be, satellite Internet will be able to provide you with that connection.
In addition to Facebook, another social networking site that has gained tremendous popularity is Twitter.
Twitter a whole website that is dedicated to people being able to post short thoughts to their Twitter account for all to read.
Its something like the Facebook status, in that you can write whatever you want for anyone to see, but people have really taken it to the next level and everyone from celebrities to athletes have accounts that they update on a regular basis.
Sometimes people even get in trouble for the posts that they make and the times that they make them.
