What"s New in 2011 at La Tania
There's always something going on in Courchevel, and it can be seen every time you step out of your ski chalet.
La Tania is no different, and there are plenty of up-and-coming projects, developments, events, and even phone applications that are set to revitalise La Tania for 2011.
Every good ski resort is looking to always grow and improve, and La Tania is always looking to better their own services.
Whether it's for skiers, snowboarders, families or even just a new event to keep the nightlife fun and lively, here are a few of the 2011 developments that are about to take the resort by storm.
The iPhone App One great gadget that everybody's using is the iPhone.
While you may be right if you imagine it wouldn't be much use while you're skiing down the slopes, there's a new application, or app, on the way with fast off-line access to all the essential information you need.
Piste maps, phone numbers, bus timetables and those all-important last lift times, plus a host of links to weather and snow reports, and all the latest 'what's on' information.
Remember, the next time you're setting out for some après-ski fun from your ski chalet, La Tania is much easier to navigate with an iPhone app! 20 Years Old La Tania, believe it or not, is celebrating its 20th birthday this year.
Fireworks are planned on the 22nd December, 2010, and the 23rd of February, 2011 in order to celebrate 20 years of fine skiing! There are plenty of promotions to make the most of this fact and tempt you out of your ski chalet.
La Tania is taking part in one of the more unique promotions - if you're turning twenty years old, you can have a day's free skiing on your birthday for one day in the Courchevel valley - though proof of your age may be required! New Beginnings There are plenty of new buildings and new projects being built around the resort when you feel like a change from the stylish confines of your ski chalet.
La Tania will soon be home to a new Public Building which was started in April 2010, and will be completed in 2011.
It will have an Emergency Medical Centre with ambulance access (which we hope you'll never need to see!), a new crèche for young children opening in February 2011, public toilets, and a local police office, as well as a community room for meetings and exhibitions.
New Things To Do For all the beginners and those just learning to ski during 2011, a new beginners area will help them get some confidence out on the pistes.
There will be a 'magic carpet' style lift system to help skiers travel back up to the top of the gentle slope.
In addition, new snow cannons have been installed along the entirety of the green resort run, bringing the total of snow cannons in the Courchevel valley to 637, meaning 44% of the total ski area is equipped with them to keep people skiing.
There's plenty to tempt you out of your ski chalet - La Tania has never been busier.
