What Is Viking Airlines?

    Fleet

    • Viking's fleet consists of Boeing 737-800 aircraft, configured to carry 189 people, as well as Boeing 737-300 aircraft configured to carry 148 people. Viking's 737s have three seats on both sides of a single aisle.

    Destinations

    • Viking operates flights to and from various cities in England, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Gambia, Greece, the Canary Islands, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey. According to its website, Viking also partners with Aerolympic to offer flights to Iraq.

    In-flight Services

    • Viking offers the ability to pay extra for "extra legroom" seats, as well as duty free shopping, champagne and personal PSP devices for in-flight entertainment.

    Financial Data

    • According to Travel Weekly UK, Viking posted a profit of nearly 4 million euro in 2009 and does not currently have any interest-bearing debt.

    Fleet and Workforce Reduction

    • In August 2010, Viking announced that it would remove three aircraft from service as well as cut jobs in the United Kingdom.
