Members:

The four-man vocal group formed in Atlanta and is made up of twin lead singers Brian Casey and Brandon Casey, both born Oct. 13, 1975; Kyle Norman, born Feb. 26, 1975; and Richard Wingo, born Sept. 3rd, 1975.

The Group's Origins:

After a solid upbringing where they honed their vocal skills in church choirs, Jagged Edge first came together in Atlanta, Georgia, after Connecticut natives Brian and Brandon moved to Georgia and connected with Kyle and a few other song men.

Although they planned to sign with Michael Bivins and his Biv Ten label, it wasn't meant to be. So changes were made, and Kandi Burress of the all-girl singing group Xscape eventually brought Wingo to the group.

Early Career:

After shopping a demo, J.E. eventually signed with Jermaine Dupri's So So Def label. In the summer of 1997 the group's debut single, "The Way That You Talk," was released and their first album, A Jagged Era, followed in 1998. The album went gold and spawned the Top 20 R&B/Top 40 pop hit "Gotta Be." Their next single, "He Can't Love U," appeared in the fall of 1998 and reached the top 5 of the R&B chart and the Top 20 of the pop chart, going gold in the process.

Chart Success:

The group's second album, J.E. Heartbreak, topped the R&B chart and hit the Top Ten of the pop chart, selling over 2 million copies and spawning the number one R&B hits "Let's Get Married" (also Top 20 pop) and "Promise" (also Top Ten pop). J.E.'s third album, Jagged Little Thrill, came in late June 2001 and eventually went platinum, selling over a million copies.

To date, J.E. has earned nine gold, platinum and multi-platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Assn. of America.

The Latest:

The group remained on Columbia when Dupri and So So Def left for Arista in 2003. Their 2003 album, Hard, went gold, selling half a million copies. Jagged Edge, the group's fifth album, was released in May, 2006. It was executive produced by J.E.'s Brandon and Brian Casey.
