- 1). First, pour tap water onto a pot on the stove until it reaches a boiling point.
- 2). Next, collect the steam. As the water boils, steam will begin to pour out from the top. This steam needs to be collected into a separate container. After enough steam is collected you will eventually start to begin to see water in your separate container.
- 3). Store the steamed water in a cool place.
- 4). Dump the water from the pot on the stove out as this water contains chemicals that are harmful to your fish. Steam is very light and less condense so it does not provide any of the impurities found in tap water.
