How do I Apply for Assistance & Entitlements for Low Income Families in Louisiana?
- 1). Fill out an application on line for any assistance you need. The on line application will cover FITAP, SNAP, KCSP and CCAP. If you need multiple assistance programs, you will only need to fill out one application. Just mark each program you are applying for. If you prefer, you can print out a copy of the application, fill it out by hand and take it to your local Office of Family Support.
- 2). Read over the Information about the Application for Assistance. As of 2010, the Office of Family Services has the Information about the Application for Assistance in three languages: English, Spanish and Vietnamese.
- 3). Go to an interview to review your application and verify your eligibility. As of 2010, you only need an interview for FITAP, SNAP and KCSP. An Office of Family Support worker will be assigned to your case to interview you, so you won't have multiple interviews if you apply for multiple services. If you are only applying for SNAP, you may only have a telephone interview.
