How to Create PDF Files Without Selecting a Printer

    • 1). Launch the computer program that the file you want to convert was created in.

    • 2). Open the file in the program. Although the exact open procedures can very you can typically accomplish this feat by clicking "File," followed by "Open." Select the file from the "Open" window.

    • 3). Click the "File" button once again. Look down the available selections in the pull-down menu. Select "Publish to PDF" if you see it. Once the PDF window opens name the document and select an output location, then select "Publish to PDF." If this option is not available on the "File" pull-down menu select "Save."

    • 4). Click the tab next to the format options at the bottom of the window. Scroll through the available options and select "PDF."

    • 5). Click "Save" and the program creates a PDF file without using the print features.
