The Beauty of Cortina D"Ampezzo in Alps
Cortina d'Ampezzo is located in a small town, only a small dot on the map that few people knows, which is in the border of Italy and Switzerland.
Although not many people know the small town, you may hear about the Italian outdoors brand "DOLOMITE".
Dolomtes, belongs to Alps mountain system, is the name of one piece of continuous mountains that run through the northeast of Italy.
Cortina d'Ampezzo is just in the center of Dolomtes.
It is called the pearl of Dolomtes for its fierce hills, meandering scenery and rich forest.
The Alps is a so remote dream to me that I do not want to think about.
The dream is live again only when I see from the "Patrolled the World" in a blog the bare rocky mountains standing into the blue sky like the nails.
Under the mountain is the forest, the prairie, the houses with fresh blooms and also the church.
Here is the Dolomtes in the north of Italy.
I decide to go there after only one second.
I focus on Cortina d'Ampezzo among the small towns that located in the mountains.
In winter, it is the ski paradise while lots of people who are fond of climbing and on-foot traveling in summer.
Here there is the renowned mountain guide and the school for rock climbing study ..
..
..
All these make me love Cortina more-I love it more than I can say.
This Dolomtes' pearl becomes my destination finally.
This enchanting city is built revolving a square and the clock tower.
Hotel Corona is decorated by the outstanding works of the Italy artists in the 20th century.
Hotel Regina is the family hotel that I booked previously by World Hostel.
It is not far away from the center of the town and is as beautiful as in the photo.
This family hotel is in charge of the oldest woman as usual, the daughter and the daughter-in law only helping her with some work.
There are many available rooms because not many guests live in.
I am not asked to pay the deposit (ten percent and rarely) in advance when I check in.
The old woman with clever brain is friendly.
The room is typically western-style--clean and warm, through which you can see the scenery outside.
I can't wait to see around.
As promised in the e-mail, the old lady gives me many maps and reference book for free and shows a nearer line for my having a try on foot in the afternoon.
I had no idea to make a plan without the map of Cortina, so I accept her advice.
I spend two hours to arrive at the foot of the hill.
Maybe I can save much time if I can take notice of the running free vehicle ahead of time.
