Britax Recall Information

    History

    • More than 30,000 Britax car seats were recalled on January 8, 2009, because of defective child restrains that could fail to properly secure children in the event of a vehicle crash.

    Recalled Models

    • Subject to recall are Britax Frontier models E9L54E7, E9L54H6, E9L54H7, E9L54M6 manufactured on or before September 14, 2008, and model E9L5490 manufactured on or before September 17, 2008.

    Reason for Recall

    • According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, these Britax child seats are being recalled because the harness straps may detach from the metal yoke on the back of the child restraint if repeatedly loosened one strap at a time.

    Solution

    • Britax will mail rubber caps to all registered owners that prevent the straps from detaching. Owners who have not registered their seats with Britax must either call Britax at (800) 683-2045 and request a repair kit or visit www.frontierrecall.com to request a kit online.
