Intra-Aortic Balloon Counterpulsation in Patients With AMI
In patients with AMI without CS, counterpulsation does not reduce the risk of death, CHF, or reinfarction. Counterpulsation significantly reduces recurrent myocardial ischemia, but it increases the risk of CVAs and moderate to severe bleeding.
