How to reset a PS3
- 1). Turn off the PS3 by flipping the power switch on the back of the system.
- 2). Turn the power switch back to the "on" position.
- 3). Hold the power button while the PS3 is powering up until you hear three beeps. These signal that the PS3 has received the manual system reset command.
- 4). Prompt through the initial setup menu to continue resetting the PS3.
- 5). Select "Format" from the system menu to format and finish a complete system reset for the PS3.
