Renegade Entrepreneurs: How You Can Save the US
In the recent Presidential debates, it was apparent that the economy of the US is one of the key deciding factors for many in this election.
Americans are growing more and more afraid as they watch the deficit and inflation grow while the number of jobs declines.
Many have stated that entrepreneurship could help bring this country back to its former glory, and the renegade entrepreneur could play an important part in saving the US.
But how much truth is there to this claim? In a speech which he made over the summer in the state of Virginia, President Obama said, "If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help.
There was a great teacher somewhere in your life.
Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive.
Somebody invested in roads and bridges.
If you've got a business, you didn't build that.
Somebody else made that happen.
" This speech went viral in a matter of days, and most of those in the world of entrepreneurship were not at all pleased with the notion that their success was not by the sweat of their own brow.
The fact is that many of these rebels and renegades of the entrepreneur world risked everything that they and their families had to start their businesses, without any help from the government.
And all they were hoping for was a chance to make it, and hopefully help others make it as well.
Not long after the President's famous, "You Didn't Build That" speech, his opponent in the current Presidential race, Governor Mitt Romney of Massachusetts began his own campaign which contradicted Obama's stance.
His website added a page called, "Built By Us" which clearly showed that he believes in the hard work of the American entrepreneur.
Romney made many speeches which showed his support of these dedicated men and women, as did his running mate, Paul Ryan and Republican Senator of Florida, Marco Rubio.
But who is correct, the Democrats or the Republicans? As the managing news editor of Gallup.
com, Lymari Morales explains, "Although business owners represent just a small subset of the US population, they are of course a critical component of the economy and overall economic optimism in the country," This statement came after Obama's popularity sank in the Gallup polling.
Morales also added, "further deterioration in his approval rating among business owners could certainly add to the perception that Obama is not doing enough to bolster small businesses in the country.
" The lack of jobs in this country, along with the shattered economy and rise in the cost of living needs to be addressed by someone who understands what it takes to solve these types of issues.
Although the Democratic Administration has had four years to make improvements in the country's problems, they have only succeeded in proving that it is not the government who can save the day, but the renegade entrepreneur who can create new jobs when they start their own businesses.
These businesses hire people.
These people spend the money they make and pour it back into the economy.
Job creation and seeding the economy all at once.
These are the people who can save the country, and with the support of its citizens and leaders, perhaps they will do just that.
