How to Design an Urban T-Shirt

Adobe Photoshop
Go to the Adobe website and install a free trial version of Adobe Photoshop onto your computer. Adobe Photoshop is a design program that allows you to create your own custom t-shirt design. Click the link on the Adobe Downloads website entitled "Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 for Windows." The download will begin right away. - 2
New Image File
Create an image file by clicking "File" near the top of the Photoshop screen. A list will appear. Click the selection entitled "New" from the list. Another window will open with fields for you to fill in dimensions for your image. For an urban t-shirt, enter 2000 pixels for the width and the height. You will also need to fill in the resolution for the image, which should be at least 300 DPI (dots per inch) or higher. When you are finished, click "OK." - 3
Create the Design
Add color and text to your image by selecting tools from the "Toolbox," which is a vertical box at the right-hand side of the Photoshop screen. For color, select the "Paintbrush" tool, which resembles a paintbrush icon. You can change the color of the paint by clicking on the colored box at the bottom of the "Toolbox." Once you have selected the color and the tool, you can draw on the image, creating whatever designs you like. Add text by selecting the "Text" tool, which resembles a capital letter "T." Click and drag a box onto the image, then click inside the box to begin typing. Once you are finished, click "File," then select "Save As" from the list that appears. Name and save the file in JPEG format. - 4
Upload your new urban design onto a print-on-demand website, such as CafePress. On the CafePress website, click the link at the top of the home page that says "Create Custom T-Shirts & More." From that page, you can select your t-shirt types and order the quantity you want at a very reasonable price.
